Before leaving Munich we did see a couple more sights like the standing wave (so funny/amazing to see people surfing in downtown Munich in full length wetsuits, it did not look warm at all!) and a couple more beer halls for Marc.
We organized a hostel for a couple of nights in GaPa which was super expensive. We had applied to couch surf but no one had gotten back to us. The Sutho's morale was super low with not much luck with jobs, nowhere to live for the winter (had been looking for rooms to rent with no luck) and Marc was really sick. It was a crappy couple of days.
GaPa was a really beautiful place right in the heart of the mountains. There was an american army base in town so most people could speak some form of english. We did not do a lot of tourist things as we were too busy researching jobs and rooms. Luckily a host was available in GaPa and gave us a couple more days to look around to see if anything came up. We left the hostel and stayed at Jim's place for a few nights. Jim was awesome, we got along with him and his girlfriend really well. Staying at Jim's relieved the pressure for a little bit as he let us stay just over a week in total. During this time our friend in Innsbruck said that if we needed a room for winter her friend Eva was going away and would be happy to sub-let her room to us until the end of March. This was amazing news and after some discussion we decided to take the room and then go from there (at least we had somewhere to live!).
Before leaving GaPa we had an amazing night out at 'Peaches' with Jim and Kati. We danced the night away to Euro dance music, it was hilarious but everyone in the club was dancing so it was loads of fun.
We caught an IIHF hockey game between Norway and Slovenia, it was not as fast moving as the NHL games in Canada that we had come accustomed to but it was still a good game and enjoying to watch.
Made it out to the Partnach Gorge; it was only meant to be a 20 min walk to the gorge however we took the wrong road... 40 min later after walking up a crazy steep road we had decided that we were probably going the wrong way, we ran into another couple who were also a little lost. The guy said to us 'Do you speak english?' and stupid me replied 'Yes, do you?' we all had a laugh about that and worked out that we had gone the long way as they had and it would be faster to turn around and go back to the other road. It's funny now but at the time it was exhausting. Once we were back at the right road we made it to the gorge in about 15 min. The walk through the gorge was well worth seeing especially after such a long walk the wrong way!
